First Time Going To Gator Game - Where To Park?

I just got my first set of Gator tickets for the 9/4 game. I am taking my son (age 15) so he gets to experience Florida and will work hard in high school to go there in a few years.

Can anyone recommend a place to park for a single game?  I would like to stay in a place that is fun, but candidly, I don't want to be surrounded by drunken idiots.

Questions I have are:

1. Where do I park?

2. What time to get there to have plenty of time to relax?

3. What should I expect to pay for parking?

Any other suggestions are most appreciated.

Thanks !

I would say almost everywhere you go will be people drinking. But, if you're just walking around seeing campus, you aren't even going to notice. It's not like you're going to an opposing stadium and are wearing enemy colors or something.

Parking is free on campus, and if you get there early enough thats the way to go. Otherwise, go north of campus and University Avenue into the housing area and pay $20 to park in someone's yard. Then check out all the shops in University and take a stroll around campus. Its really nice.

Has anybody here ever taken the bus from the Oaks Mall?

I've done something similar for jaguar games and it works out great - not getting stuck in traffic.

This year is going to be sweet too, because theyre using nice coaches instead of the old city busses. Check out http://www.fabulouscoach.com/navigator/
