Meyer's Dream Has Nothing to do with Notre Dame, but does Include Tebow

Tebow and Meyer

Today during his weekly press conference,
Urban Meyer dismissed the notion of leaving the University of Florida
for Notre Dame if and when Charlie Weis is dismissed as the Fighting
Irish's head coach.

He did, however, admit something that is something I personally overlooked as a distinct possibility.

How does Head Coach Tim Tebow sound to the Gator Nation?

Meyer said that he could see Tebow as the future head coach for the
University of Florida.  He didn't say it in those words, but that is
what I took away from what was actually said.

Now that is very interesting.  Many question Tebow's future in the
NFL as a QB, and some feel he will only compete as a FB or TE.  What if
Tebow gives it a try as a QB, then simply returns to Florida in a
coaching capacity?

I don't think that's too far fetched of a possibility.  Tim's mother
and father are graduates of the University of Florida, and they met
their as students prior to getting married and starting their mission
in the Philippines.  Add the legacy that Tim Tebow will leave behind in
Gainesville, and you have the potential for Mr. Tebow to become Coach
Tebow in the future.

During the same press conference, Meyer became very choked up when
speaking about the upcoming game against FSU,and it being Tebow's last
in Gainesville.  Obviously, Tebow has had an impact on Meyer and his
family, and the level of respect and friendship the two men now have
will continue.

Tim Tebow, like it or not, may become the greatest college football
player in the history of the NCAA.  We may never see another player as
accomplished or talented as Tebow, and the Gator Nation was privileged
to be the school he chose to play at.

But for now, Tebow has three games remaining as the QB for the
Florida Gators.  This weekend against FSU will be a very emotional
curtain call for him in Gainesville, and that will be followed up a
week later in Atlanta when the Gators face Alabama for the SEC
Championship.

Hopefully, the Gators will then have a date in Pasadena for their
third National Championship in four years.  Then it will be time for
Tebow to enter the NFL Draft.

I do hope that Tebow has a successful career in the NFL.  To me, he
has the heart of a champion, and the leadership qualities to lead a
team to a Super Bowl or two.

However, Coach Tim Tebow has a nice ring to it.  Maybe Coach Tebow
will make his debut in 2020, about the same time my son may make his
debut as a Florida Gator football player.  Hey, an Alumnus and Father
can dream, can't he?

              I

I am so happy he chose to play in  Gainsville. His dad is a Bull Gator,so it is nice we had him. What other team can ever say there QB made a Promise before the media the way he did last year, and then deliver on a National Championship as he did? That was unheard of, and will never happen again me thinks. Go Tim Tebow and Go Gators, Give them more to hate us for!

I also have grown to admire and respect Coach Meyer. To see a man that involved with his team that he would almost break out in tears to see his seniors go.....

Here's to dreams of a future with Tebow on the sideline continuing to lead the Gators!
