Let's "Swamp" the Bayou with RV's! Park with GT at the LSU Game!

LSU RV Parking

As a reminder as we head into the LSU Game week, we still have room available in our lot for a few more RVs. As of today, we have sold 45 spots and have about 15 still available. We are also selling game day car parking as well if you want to tailgate with the GatorTailgating Crew, the Gator Country crew, and the rest of Gator Nation that travelled to Baton Rouge. Email us at events@gatortailgating.com to request more information. (directions to the lot are at the bottom of the article.)

*Note: Unfortunately, the GatorCountry speakers (Franz Beard, & Buddy Martin) will not be able to make it. According to GC, "Our writers have been delayed with deadlines and reports following closely the Tim Tebow situation and other matters. Buddy asked me to send his regrets"

As a UF Graduate in Event Management, I have had my share of party planning. I’ve done it all- hotel banquets, blow-out holiday parties, meetings, receptions… and the occasional birthday roast or Superbowl Sunday too, of course! But lemme tell ya, of all the events I’ve organized, the one to be at will be this October’s Battle on the Bayou in Baton Rouge, hosted by Gator Tailgating!

The GT crew (myself included) has reserved an RV parking lot exclusively for Gator Fans, less than 2 miles from Tiger Stadium. Spaces are still available, but you’ll want to hurry and snatch yours up, because they’re going fast! It’s no wonder, because with admission to our Friday night “Battle on the Bayou” Pep Rally and Welcome Party included, these 2-night packages are a great deal. Our party features live music from Bryce Carlisle and the Rattlesnake Daddies, a group of good ol’ Florida boys who are coming out to have a good time with some Gator fans- they know what it’s like to play for a crowd! We also have some delicious Cajun fare for those who want to sample some Louisiana flavor- and ice cold beer to boot.

We’re also excited to host our special guests, the Pride of the Sunshine Fightin’ Gator Marching Band, the UF Cheerleaders, and Albert and Alberta! They’ll be staying with us all weekend at the Sheraton, and we’re delighted they’ll be stopping by to get everybody cheering for the Orange and Blue on Friday night! Side note: don’t worry if you’re not bringing an RV. We have hotel packages lined up too- and just think, you may run into Albert in the elevator!

I don’t know about ya’ll, but the best part about the upcoming LSU weekend is that there’s so much to do in Baton Rouge besides going to the game. Some of the other SEC cities can be a little bland- but Baton Rouge? They've got a little somethin' to make anyone crave more Cajun flavor. The GT family is even going out early so we can take in some sights- there’s a fabulous haunted house ( www.midnightproduction.com)  next door to the Sheraton, lots of fun nightlife spots for drinking and dancing, and my favorite- the farmers’ market- is just a few blocks away downtown,  When were checking out Baton Rouge in May,  I went to the farmers’ market and scored some ginormous (yes, that’s a word, folks!) wild Gulf shrimp, fresh-picked peaches, and two of the most delish little blackberry tarts- the woman’s hands were still purple from picking the berries!  Of course if you don't want to go far from the hotel, there's no need to- the Belle of Baton Rouge Casino sits adjacent to the hotel, and you can even just take a few moments to relax on a bench and look out over the Mississippi River.

So- if you haven’t already decided that your away-game road trip will be to LSU I can promise you, you won't want to miss it! I may be a little biased- after all, I did choose Friday night’s menu! But you gotta know, if GT’s involved, it’s going to be a blast! If you want to come out and celebrate with us, check out www.gatortailgating.com/lsutrip for details.  Hope to see you in Baton Rouge!
