GatorTailgating.com's Monster Garage: The Unsupervised Bus

LSU Unsupervised Bus

GatorTailgating.com will be doing a series of weekly articles on Tailgating vehicle creations from fans across the country who have taken their pre-game festivities to the next level. We hope this inspires some of you Gator fans to build your own Tailgating Creations.

When you think of tailgating universities, you can't help but list LSU as one of the top schools in the nation. The cajuns have always done two things well: cook and party. Fortunately, tailgating includes both of them, which is why it is never okay to pass up a road trip to Baton Rouge.

One of the tailgating groups in Baton Rouge is the "Unsupervised" group, which got it's name from a bunch of friends and significant others going out on the town together every now and then for 'unsupervised' night's out. What originally started as a night out parying eventually began to include tailgating for LSU games, a flag football team, a softball team, and even a volleyball team.

Platform tailgate trailerOnce they took their tailgating to another level and out grew their original tailgating trailer, they decided to build a trailer/tailgating party platform. (picture below) According to their website, the second trailer is when the "Over the top" attitude towards tailgating really started to take place.

Not to long after they had constructed the platform/trailer, someone brought up the idea of a tailgating bus. It was met with full approval from the crew and soon they were buying their 1982 Ford school bus. At a bargain of only $600, how could they pass it up? That's not an insane amount of money to spend on a tailgating vehicle, right?

Sugar Bowl 2007 Somewhere in the neighborhood of $30,000 later, that original $600 seems like mere pennies. The upgrades to T.U.B. (The Unsupervised Bus) include a kegerator, a touch-screen jukebox, in-motion roaming satellite, flat screen HD Televisions, a bathroom, dual air conditioners, a wrap-around bench that seats 20 people, a train horn, and so much more. The benches even convert into beds for 10 people to sleep too!

Needless to say, this bus is made for the perfect tailgate party! For more information about the Unsupervised Crew, their tailgating location, pictures, or any other information, Don't hesitate to visit their site at unsupervised.org.
